ciNE65 Short Film Competition Season 4
TERMS & CONDITIONS
ciNE65 Short Film Competition ("the Competition") is organised by Nexus ("the Organiser") and is open to all Singaporeans, i.e., Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (including overseas Singaporeans). Participants under the age of 18 are required to seek permission from their parents or legal guardian prior to their participation in the Competition. Employees of the Organiser, as well as their immediate family members, are eligible to participate, but their submissions would NOT be eligible for consideration for any of the prizes.
2) Competition Period
The Competition begins on 1 January 2017 and ends on 17 April 2017. All entries must be received no later than 1200hrs Singapore time on 17 April 2017 to be considered in the running for prizes.
Participants are to register online in a form provided at cine65.sg, and submit their entries as indicated in the form. Participants are required to fill up their particulars completely and accurately in the online registration form.
Only entries with complete and accurate information will be eligible for entry in the Competition. Registrations with incomplete or invalid details will be disqualified. In addition, the Organiser is not responsible for misdirected, unprocessed or late registrations.
Participants are to ensure that their 3-minute short film entries meet the following additional requirements:
a) The entries should be original, and should not have been used for submission in other competitions previously;
b) All non-English entries must be subtitled in English;
c) The entries should not contain, nor be connected with, any obscene, blasphemous, libellous, offensive, pornographic or otherwise unlawful or inappropriate material or activity, including but not limited to references to trade marks, logos or branding of any names, products or services of a third party;
d) The entries should not use any copyrighted music, video or images. In particular, the entries must not infringe any Intellectual Property Rights. If the entries use copyrighted music, video or images under license or with permission, these must be clearly stated.
Each participant warrants that:
a) He/She is the creator and exclusive owner of the contents of his/her entry for the Competition, and that he/she has full capacity to agree to these Terms & Conditions and to give the warranties and grant the rights as stated in these Terms & Conditions;
b) The contents of the entry submitted for the Competition are original works of that participant, and have met the requirements (including but not limited to those listed in clause 4 of these Terms & Conditions) of the Competition;
c) The information, details and particulars submitted by him/her to the Organiser are true, accurate and complete;
d) He/She shall indemnify the Organiser against all loss, damage or expense arising in respect of any action or claim for actual or alleged infringement of any Intellectual Property Rights by the use or possession of the contents of his/her entry or submission for the Competition.
6) Discretion of the Organiser
The Organiser reserves the right without any liability on its part whatsoever to:
a) modify, suspend, postpone or cancel the Competition without prior notice, in the event that the platforms or systems used for the Competition becomes technically corrupted or unsuitable for use, or for any other reason whatsoever;
b) amend these Terms & Conditions, or make prize substitutions at any time without prior notice;
c) disqualify any entry that it deems offensive or fails to comply with any of these Terms & Conditions; and
d) disclose, publish, display or use the participant's particulars (including but not limited to his/her name, picture, photograph and identification card number) for any advertising or publicity purposes in connection with the Competition or any other NE programme or purpose.
The participant understands and agrees that by submitting his/her entry to the Organiser, he has grant a cost-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide and non-exclusive licence to the Government of the Republic of Singapore (hereafter "the Government") and to the Organiser to reproduce, publish, publicly perform, communicate to the public, adapt, and use the contents of the submission, including any picture(s) and or original musical score contained within the short film(s) submitted for the Competition, in any way whatsoever, whether in whole or in part, in connection with National Education (NE) programmes or purposes, on any media platform. The copyright of the works will remain with the film-makers. Due credit will be accorded to the relevant film-makers should the Organiser use their films for NE programmes or purposes.
Finalists or winners would be notified by the Organiser via email to the email addresses which they have provided in the online registration form. Upon such notification, finalists or winners would be required to provide the Organiser with a copy of their short film in high definition quality within seven (7) days. Finalists or winners who fail to do so, or who could not be contacted at their registered email addresses, would have their prizes forfeited and an alternate finalist or winner may be selected.
